My Hair Story // Style Addict

Hey, Lovelies!

I thought I would switch it up this blog post (not going to lie I'm just being super lazy and cba picking out an outfit and getting pictures haha). I decided since I just recently got my hair done that I would do a little post on my hair journey, I'm a bit addicted to getting my hair done and have been since about the age of 14. I've had SO MANY different styles and colours and I thought it would be kinda fun to look through some old (and kinda embarrassing) pics and talk you through my journey!

So...this is 2010 Emo/Scene Kid Danni. This has to be one of the first times I got my hair done, I got crazy amounts of blonde highlights in my fringe and around my face. I thought I was the coolest guy ever. This picture would have definitely been a Bebo profile pic at some point.

I'm sure this is still 2010, see what I mean about changing my hair constantly! It's a weird non-intentional reddish colour with a MAJOR side fringe! I'm sure this is round about the time of when every gal and their granny had that red Rhianna inspired hair! I obviously wasn't ballsy enough to go hard or go home haha! And no I'm not going to even talk about the denim sleeveless waistcoat I have on. (But it was from Topshop FYI).

I'm not gonna bore yous/ embarrass myself too much so I've jumped to 2012, when the coloured ombre trend had just started and I was so desperate to try it so I got a friend to dye the ends of my extensions...and this is what I looked like. Yes, I had a photoshoot myself in my room and used Picmonkey to OVER edit my pictures.

2013 - the year of yet again more drastic change and the one and only time I ever ever ever used a box hair dye! My hair went from a beautiful, healthy-ish condition to patchy dark brown and I did this about two months before starting uni...worst idea ever!! Also, 2013 must have been the year I actually started smiling in selfies and realised duck face wasn't actually cool!

Funnily enough, I then ventured back to ombre! I think I did this mainly because it was cheaper than getting my whole head done, and it was super in! Looking back now I really did love this hair colour, it wasn't that super harsh ombre that you could actually see where the bleach stopped and your 'natural' hair colour began. But surprise, surprise Danielle did something stupid again and bought a pink chalk hair colour from Topshop and put all over my beautiful light blonde hair and it would not come out!!

After spending so much money on getting my hair perfect I go and put a cheap ass apparently 'wash out' colour in it! So this resulted in me having to get the chop *GASP* I'd only ever had my hair cut super short once in my life and I was about 14 and I just went to the hairdressers without telling my mum and got it cut off (thankfully I couldn't find any of those pictures to show you!) bad times!

I don't think this is a photograph of my hair directly after getting the pink out it might be a little while later, but apart from the little bits of blonde at the bottom I'm 90% this is mostly my natural hair colour and I haven't seen that in a while!!

There's more...after this, I got a little bored (surprise, surprise) so I decided to get a little fringe put in, I loved this hair style and always toy with the idea of getting it cut back in but it was just too high maintenance!

Not gonna lie looking at all these pictures of skinny, young Danielle isn't great when I'm slobbing it out in joggies and a junkie bun. NOT GREAT!

After our wee walk down memory lane, I'll get to more recent times (just so you know I have skipped hella a lot of horrid hair decisions, not gonna lie).

Grey hair, now this was something that I had lusted after for such a long time, I would constantly talk about it, make Pinterest boards about it, follow Instagram accounts because the person had grey hair but I just didn't exactly know how to go about getting it done.

I had won a free cut and colour at a hairdressers in Glasgow a couple of weeks before my 21st birthday so I decided that I would use it the day before my 21st (the day of my 21st surprise party) to treat myself and get my grey hair (finally)!! I was in the hairdressers from literally 10 in the morning until about 6 at night getting this done, now this wasn't a full head it was literally just the ends and it went BLUE, DARK DARK BLUE and on the car ride home I cried my eyes out because I had ruined my hair for my 21st birthday but thankfully that night I got way too drunk to even give a dam and actually ended up loving it!!

The blue finally washed out and I was left with a kind of grey/blonde ombre that I just wasn't lovely. And one day when I was scrolling through Instagram and came to Number 659's insta page and I saw THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERFECT grey ombre that I had ever lay my eyes on and I knew that I had to go there and get it.

So my first trip to the salon my hair turned out like this obviously not as grey as I had hoped but if you hadn't guessed already by this post I had a lot of colour build up and it would be super difficult to get it really light first time around. I went back a good few times and ended up with a super gorgeous colour!

And then...probably the most adventurous thing that I have ever done with my hair was this...

Again I got this done in Number 659, I did not go to the salon to get it done it just kinda happened!
I loved it so so so much, but unfortunately, it was just too much hard work and the pink washed out really really quickly!

You may or may not know but blue hair dye is very very very difficult to get out...so we opted for a half grey, half blue which again I LOVED! and then once my roots had grown out we went for a gorgeous icy grey with a peppermint green/blue flash through one side.

(Don't worry the post is coming to an end) we have my newest hair style which is a beaut lilac, grey colour! I'm so super happy to have my hair all one colour again haha!

FINALLY! It's done! I'm so so so sorry that this post is so bloody long but I really wanted to include so many pictures of the different hair styles I have had. And thank you if you actually managed to read right till the end! I'm thinking about writing about my current hair care routine for coloured hair if that's something that you guys would be interested in reading about...let me know!

Love Yah!

On Trend - Leopard Print // Style Addict

Hey Lovelies!

Not gonna lie I'm having the best Sunday eva. I have Cheetah Girls - Cheetah Sisters blasting and I'm singing my wee heart out! And if you don't understand that reference then just get out.

I managed to get a couple of new pics taken by my ever so amazing boyf yesterday. We rarely have a full day together so we got all dressed up and headed into Glasgow for a bit of lunch at Drygate Brewary and to book tattoos! (Our Valentine's day gifts to each other).

This gorgeous leopard print jacket is a very recent purchase! Im so so so happy that leopard print is on trend again I really am a sucker for it! Obviously it's from H&M, they have so many amazing leopard print items in ATM, making it super easy to stay on trend without breaking the bank.

I really wanted the jacket to be the main focus of the outfit so I kept everything else rather simple. The black pleated skirt, also from H&M, works really well for my shape highlighting the smallest part of my waist making me feel super slim. I paired it with this little top from Zara, I love little slogan t-shirts, and the positioning of it works really well with the jacket. Also this top is slightly cropped which means there isnt that awkward line of where your top ends underneath your skirt. Its worse than VPL in my opinion!

For accessories I went for these lil hunnis - my Kurt Geiger pom pom shoes and my Zara chain bag, which was a graduation present from my boyf! As for the shoes, I'd searched for ever and ever for a pair of pom pom flats, I'd seen a pair on ASOS but typically they were sold out :( So I was plesantly surprised to find these ones, yes they were a little pricier but I feel like they are a good investment and they feel like they are made really well.

Me thinking I am hilarious on Snapchat..

Peace Out Huns, until next time.

The Jacket // Style Addict

Hello Strangers!

A LOT has happened since my last post...in April. I graduated with a 2:1 in International Fashion Branding, I got a new job and booked a trip to New York as part of mine and Grant's (my boyfriend) 5 year anniversary! So it means I have been super busy, and kinda pushed the blog to the side for a bit.

But how could I not blog about this jacket!!! It's from H&M (which shouldn't surprise some of yous). I've been wearing it constantly since I bought it, I makes me feel like a super cool, edgy mermaid!

A massive trend this season is pink! So I combinded that with a new staple item in my wardrobe - a hoodie. By wearing it underneath this black pinifor dress gave it a more femmine vibe, and it looked less slouchy for a date day. Although I couldn't help pairing it with my mega bright white Stan Smiths! Which I'm not gonna lie are KILLING my feet, I need to break them in ASAP because I cannot live without them. I decided to go for a bare leg, which might have not been the best idea in freezing cold Glasgow but I actually managed to slap on some fake tan during the week and I was gonna show that off!

I'll link all the items I'm wearing below, most are from H&M, oops!

Hoodie - £24.99
Dress - £24.99
Jacket - £59.99 (Sold Out Online)
Although it has been sold out for a while but if you really want it keep trying the website because that's how I got mine!
Shoes - £69.95
Bag - £29.99
