A/W Trend Diary

Here's a quick essential guide to keeping on track with the A/W 2013 trends.

Tartan!
This is something you MUST invest in this season to stay bang on trend, this look was seen all over the catwalk from the likes of Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Mulberry..

Mulberry

Christian Dior

Versace

And if like me you cant afford these exact looks well here is a few alternatives to keep you right on trend without breaking the bank.

I LOVE these little tartan ankle strap heel with the perspex sides from BooHoo.com, keeping with the tartan trend but also with the strappy heel makes these shoes so versatile, you are able to wear then with skinny ripped jeans or a tight black midi...almost too many excuses to wear them! For £20 can you really say no?

These are perfectly paired with a crisp white crop shirt, or an oversize woolly knit or a cute pair of chelsea boots. From Topshop for only £25.

Punk!
Now who doesn't love a bit of punk, bring out your inner bad gal. This look was seen on designers from the likes of Chanel, Saint Laurent...

Chanel

Versace

Heres some more cost effective looks to keep you going all winter long!

Black and white printed T from Topshop by Maarten Van Der Horst, pair this with super skinny jeans and some metallic footwear!

Loving this waisted spike belt from ASOS, perfect with a girly skater style dress to punk it up!

Could you get more punk that these Dr Marten shoes! Which would pretty much match everything, well i'd find any excuse to wear them!

Suit Up!
Looking at classic structure skirts, paired with oversize jumpers and matching print suit set! Which can definitely go from office to nightwear effortlessly. This look from designers such as Victoria Beckham, Erdem, DKNY, Burberry Prorsum..

Burberry Prorsum

Louis Vuitton

DKNY

Key pieces to stay on trend from the high street.

This sweet little piece from Zara just screams this look, match it with a structured skirt, tights and boot for a cute and bang on trend look.

This leather look pencil skirt from ASOS is perfect for this look and so versatile for everything, another one of those pieces that would go with mostly everything for day and night, office and party!

This beautiful matching set from Topshop just gets my fashion senses tingling! Both easily wearable pieces by themselves but together they are like some sort of power couple! If you are looking for head turning reactions in the office then go for this, paired with loafers or even strappy 'barely there' sandals to easily flow from day till night. We might as well party those cold winter nights away!

Oversize Outerwear

This could be easiest trend ever! Who cares what your wearing underneath as long as your coat is oversize and fabulous! This look was dominating the catwalk with the likes of DKNY, Chanel, Valentino all showing this look

Valentino

Chanel

DKNY

And again, heres some high street goodies that will keep you right on trend!

I love this over size coatigin from ASOS the colour matches so many different pieces and would look flawless with most styles! A coatigin is definitely on my wish list this winter!

I'm most definitely loving the colour of this oversize masculine studio coat from Zara

This blazer from River Island just screams this trend, with the check running through it brings in the tartan trend too! Also this is a super easy piece to dress up and down too which is great!

Cara-mazing

Now who couldn't love fashions golden girl Cara Delevingne, with her beautiful brows and wacky personality.

Through these recent months she has dominated the fashion scene, from walking for Chanel, Victoria Secret, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Jason Wu, Topshop Unique, Mulberry...the list could go on and on. And been the campaign girl on very designers wish lists, the lucky ones have been many from DKNY, Fendi, YSL, Burberry and again the list could go on and on!

More to the point the reason I wanted to highlight Cara in todays blog is because of the editorial with Pharrell Williams in the September issue of British Vogue. Which gave me the inspiration to highlight some of (in my personal opinion) Cara's best shows, covers and editorials.

This editorial was published in Wonderland Magazine in September 2011, by the photographer Simon Emmett. What I love about this photograph is that you can see Cara's natural beauty in a simple black and white portrait, its elegant and simple.

This is Cara on the supplement cover of British Vogue in November 2011 in association with H&M, which is one of many times she would be shot for Vouge. What I love about this is the sheer warmth the image gives to the viewer, and truly shows off her modeling talents.

Dinner with Dolce and Gabbana. This editorial was published in Harpers Bazaar in April 2012. With many familiar faces such as Pixie Geldof and Eliza Doolittle, Garry Barlow and soo many more! What I most enjoy about this editorial it shows the essence of a great Italian get together, with mounds of good food and wine and lots of beautiful people having a beautiful time. And theres our Cara, as gorgeous as ever. Is she not?

Louis Vuitton's S/S Show 2013, as much as I adored this as soon as I saw it, four escalators to bring the models down onto a bright yellow checker board catwalk! Whats not to love! And the cherry on the top was Cara thrown into the mix with a beautiful white dress with matching headband, I guess the 'dwarf' incident with Marc Jacobs was all forgotten then.

This advertisement for Pepe Jeans features Cara and model Jeremy Young, which shows the brands image perfectly which the edgy young models strolling down the street. Highlighting exactly what these jeans are made to do. And who doesn't want a pair of those gorgeous shorts on the beach this summer! I'm sure I do!
