My First Ever Styling!

Thought i'd keep it in the family for my first 'proper' styling that I was actually able to document and get to tell all you lovely people about!

I styled an outfit for my younger sister Kelly for her friends birthday party on Friday night. As she didn't have time for tan etc the most important part was tights (as I do live in Scotland and its bloody freezing already) apart from that I had free choice!

So here is want Kel wore -

Sorry for the bad quality of photos but it was pretty rushed since she did have a party to go to! But all these pieces are gorgeous separately and super versatile.

Top - Topshop
Skirt - H&M
Bag - New Look
Necklace - H&M
Shoes - Primark

Also apart from looking gorgeous in these pictures she is also sunning it up in Tenerife right now! SUPER JEL!

Thanks to my lovely sister for letting me style her and trusting me to find her an outfit, will definitely be borrowing this one..thats what sisters are for after all!

20 things I've learnt before turning 20

Since I am turning the big 20 next month I thought I'd write a little blog on just some of the things I've learnt since my 20 years!

1) TRAVEL!! I knew as soon as I thought about the idea of writing this blog piece that this would be number one! I've been lucky enough to have visited Spain, Portugal, London, Ireland, Paris and Madrid already! And really as clique as it sounds travelling (especially alone) gives you an amazing sense of accomplishment and responsibility. Even the bad experiences like showing up in Madrid airport with no address or internet to find out where we where supposed to be staying or getting lost in the street of Madrid, will always give you that life experience that you didn't have before. Seriously you wouldn't regret the memories you'd make.

2) Have fun with fashion! Whether it's the Barry M glitter eye shadow stage or the bell skirt and berrie to school, I might have not looked all that amazing but felt it!

3) Make time for you, stop trying to please everyone else because tbh it's not your job to make sure everyone's happy just you worry about you!

4) Mums do usually know best, even when you are 15 and begging her for money to buy the neon pink tutu fro Hellfire to wear to the Cathouse under's on a Saturday night...in hignsight she was 100% to say no!

5) Crying is okay! Sometimes it really does help! Go pour yourself a glass of wine, draw a bubble bath and put on a soppy movie on netflixs it will make you feel 1 million times better!

6) Daily planners (diaries) are great things! I'd be lost without mine, seriously a god send.

7) Being in a serious relationship at a 'young' age isn't a bad thing! There seems to be some sort of taboo on young relationships and commitment, just count yourself lucky that you have found the right guy sooner rather than later!

8) I am going to hate this but..save money! Having a little money behind you does open so many doors and knowing that SAAS (student loans) is not a personal clothing allowance for your first year at uni should stand you on good sted!

9) Don't work too hard (that's easy for me to say) yeh having a part time job + uni is great it makes those night outs even sweeter when you don't feel like vomiting every time you drunkenly offer to pay for a round. But having days where you can just get on a train and go anywhere or lay in bed all day and watch say yes to the dress is great too!

10) Take as many pictures as you possibly can! And print them out, buy some cute frames and hang them everywhere! There is something amazing about being able to hold on to your memories and not just stare at them through a screen.

11) It's only hair! Whether it's blonde or brown, short or long it will grow back! Have fun with it..all I'll say is that thank god I didn't have pintrest of it could have been a lot crazier!

12) Fuel smoothies are sent by angels for us to enjoy in giant polistirine cups. Drink them all the frickin time.

13) Invest in a good make up collection. I mean it's a win win for everybody...except the bank! Over that last few years learning how to do a good smokey eye and shape my brows properly is super important, I mean it's stuff I can totally pass onto my kids yeno!

14) Losing friends sucks but the best will always come back. People grow apart and that's normal but you know when you make a friendship that totally last the test of time that they are there for you no matter what. Also growing up and experiencing new things gives you the chance to make amazing new friends that totally mean the world to you and you will cherish that.

15) Love your body (I'm still struggling with that one) it's what you've got but learn how to dress it! Knowing your shape and what suits you will help you thought your entire life!

16)After a night out drink a pint of freezing water and eat a banana before bed...it takes the edge off the hangover, just a little.

17) Wear black, it always looks chic and flatters every shape and size.

18) Never keep problems or worries to yourself ALWAYS tell someone! No matter how scary or bad you think it is it's always 100% better when you just tell someone, then think if you look back on it in a weeks time it's usually never as bad as it first seems.

19) Ask questions, you'll never know what you could find out.

20) Always smile.

My Parisian Style Diary

Hey guys, finally got a chance to grab my boyfriends computer for a couple of hours to get a few post done about my amazing trips over this summer. As you guys already know I was super fortunate enough to have spent 3 whole weeks in Madrid. But I also spent 4 days in Paris, France with my amazing boyfriend at the end of July!

Just thought I'd share some of my looks with you guys...

...I might just actually be an outfit repeater!! But its okay, its holiday clothes, worn in a different country...please tell me its okay!
But i really do adore this outfit from Berska!

Eeep! My favey Zara silk  Moroccan style dress, looked amazing on the Eiffel Tower at night!

This dress is actually one of my purchases in Manchester from Topshop, as it has an almost two piece design it definitely flatters my body shape atm! (Which I will do a haul of ALL of the amazing things I bought that weekend)

I am so gutted I didn't get a full length shot of this outfit because I LOVED IT! It was my little H&M striped crop top paired with a white midi skirt and nude heels...I will defs be wearing this again!

Lots of Love,

MY CRAZY LOVE FOR SJP!

I sincerely apologise guys for my lack of blogs last week, been crazy busy with uni and the like! But it didn't stop me from seeing the Sarah Jessica Parker interview for Vogue "73 Questions with Sarah Jessica Parker" and I have completely in looove with her gorgeously quaint New York apartment!

If your love for SJP is as deep as mine you will just be adore this video!

Also the video sparked my love again for her perfume NYC, which I think will always be a personal fav of mine!

Just keeping it short and sweet, while I research for my blog post for this week.

Best of the Oscars 2014

It is only fitting that I choose the best looks from the Oscars red carpet last night, and believe me it wasn't all that difficult to choose. From me red carpet looks are always better classic and simple, most of the time a fashion risk is a fashion disaster! (there are obviously a few fabulous exceptions).

Might as well start with my absolute favourite dress from the night wore by Lupita Nyong’o, gorgeous baby blue Prada Gown. IN LOOOVE

Could I really do a blog on fashion at the Oscars and not include the most gorgeous couple on the red carpet that can really do no wrong! Angelina's dress is Ellie Sabb totally classic and perfect.
Do we expect anything less from Hollywood royalty?

Now this one really surprised me, a "dar horse" we could say? This beautiful McQueen worn by Sandra Bullock, I do just adore navy on the red carpet. So complimentary.

Another star that worked the navy gown so perf last night is Amy Adams, not as amazing as Sandra's but beautiful. This gown is by Gucci.

Could I really do a blog on fashion at the Oscars and not include Jennifer Lawrence? Hollywoods Golden Girl. Im not 100% on this, I mean I like it but just don't LOVE it, which is so annoying because I could have died last year when she wore the gorgeous princess looking Dior dress, I mean maybe she is just trying a bit more high fashion which makes sense I'm just not loving it. Btw this is also Dior.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Wait a sec! How could I do this!! Write a blog on the Oscars and not include this amaaaazing picture! Anyone else loving this?

Love it!!

Trend Diary S/S 14 - Global Traveller

My final Trend Diary post! Hopefully you've enjoyed them and I've made them as interesting as I could. Our last ket trend for this seasons is Global Traveller. Think tribal, aztec prints together! Mixed animal prints, flowing fabric, fringing, beads and tassels. Probably the simplest was to describe this trend.

There is also a strong connection with the macro trend Next Nature for this season,  this is super key for high summer and festival season.

This little beaut paring is from New Look, caring on the trend of matching top and bottom pieces instead of clashing still totally works with these also harem/pyjama style pants and cute flawy crop top. I feel that New Look always performs highly in the festival style trends!

I love love love this beautiful flowing maxi from H&M, the almost minty/limey green colour is totally eye popping. Would definitely work on holiday, maybe not so much for T in the Park i think?

This lovely little sheen t-shirt dress from Urban Outfitters is gorgeous, I love the print and colour of the printed panels, would definitely wear during festival season, with knee high socks and wellies maybe even a flowery headband and loose curls!

These are my two favourite pieces of this trend, still loving tailoring and geometric cuts! And this gorgey little cropped jacket from Matalan (Yeah I know!! Such a buy) would look perfect with a loose fitting white jumpsuit, big shades and some tribal jewellery!
With the skirt (from Topshop) just screams this trend with the classing prints and earthy colours, perfect for both high summer and festivals!

As for accessories this could be a whole segment on its own! There is soo much to choose from!

These are my four favourite accessories from this trend, I could have picked loads more but thought i should limit to my absolute favs!

Bag - New Look
Shoes - Topshop
Hat and Necklace - Primark

Hope you guys enjoyed the Trend Diary for S/S 14. I will hopefully be posting nearer the time my take on each of these trends throughout Spring and Summer.

Love Yahs x

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

This is just a little piece about the outfit I'm thinking about for valentines day celebrations next week, something not too OTT. Casual and very on trend!

I AM OBSESSED (sounding like Kelly Osborn on Fashion Police) with the ripped jean craze atm, needing these beauties in my wardrobe. There from ASOS and only £32! Suchh a steal!? - Link Here!

I need this...mine mine mine mine mine! Sooo high fashion mirroring the likes of the printed sweats from Givenchy etc. Love the fashion sketch print just adds extra chic!
Très Magnifique!
£19.99 - Zara - Link Here!

I'm dying for a pair of shoes in this style! And after weeks of looking for a pair in black I found these in Office for £65, which is a little pricey but i think you would get a lot of wear out of these! - Link Here!

This one is more a pipeline dream then an actual product that I'd be able to buy for Vday (unless I won the lottery) I do looooove this Micheal Kors bag, the stand out colour is perfect to jazzy up a plain outfit! And its all yours for only £310! - Link Here!

And finally some bling! This chunky chain bracelet comes in at about £50 but sooooo worth it, would match everything! Already thought about 5 different outfits I could wear it with! - Link Here!

Hope you enjoy this look!

Cami Crazy

One of my favourite pieces this A/W. Super easy to dress up or down. Whether its textured, silk, cotton...these are available in so many different styles to suit almost everyone. And is available at a range of prices.
Pair with a slick leather jacket, super tight skinnies and killer heels for a fantastic night outfit. Or with a pair of cute ripped skinnies, and an over sized knit.

These are just a few of favourite styles atm, but im sure that will just keep growing and growing!

A/W Trend Diary

Here's a quick essential guide to keeping on track with the A/W 2013 trends.

Tartan!
This is something you MUST invest in this season to stay bang on trend, this look was seen all over the catwalk from the likes of Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Mulberry..

Mulberry

Christian Dior

Versace

And if like me you cant afford these exact looks well here is a few alternatives to keep you right on trend without breaking the bank.

I LOVE these little tartan ankle strap heel with the perspex sides from BooHoo.com, keeping with the tartan trend but also with the strappy heel makes these shoes so versatile, you are able to wear then with skinny ripped jeans or a tight black midi...almost too many excuses to wear them! For £20 can you really say no?

These are perfectly paired with a crisp white crop shirt, or an oversize woolly knit or a cute pair of chelsea boots. From Topshop for only £25.

Punk!
Now who doesn't love a bit of punk, bring out your inner bad gal. This look was seen on designers from the likes of Chanel, Saint Laurent...

Chanel

Versace

Heres some more cost effective looks to keep you going all winter long!

Black and white printed T from Topshop by Maarten Van Der Horst, pair this with super skinny jeans and some metallic footwear!

Loving this waisted spike belt from ASOS, perfect with a girly skater style dress to punk it up!

Could you get more punk that these Dr Marten shoes! Which would pretty much match everything, well i'd find any excuse to wear them!

Suit Up!
Looking at classic structure skirts, paired with oversize jumpers and matching print suit set! Which can definitely go from office to nightwear effortlessly. This look from designers such as Victoria Beckham, Erdem, DKNY, Burberry Prorsum..

Burberry Prorsum

Louis Vuitton

DKNY

Key pieces to stay on trend from the high street.

This sweet little piece from Zara just screams this look, match it with a structured skirt, tights and boot for a cute and bang on trend look.

This leather look pencil skirt from ASOS is perfect for this look and so versatile for everything, another one of those pieces that would go with mostly everything for day and night, office and party!

This beautiful matching set from Topshop just gets my fashion senses tingling! Both easily wearable pieces by themselves but together they are like some sort of power couple! If you are looking for head turning reactions in the office then go for this, paired with loafers or even strappy 'barely there' sandals to easily flow from day till night. We might as well party those cold winter nights away!

Oversize Outerwear

This could be easiest trend ever! Who cares what your wearing underneath as long as your coat is oversize and fabulous! This look was dominating the catwalk with the likes of DKNY, Chanel, Valentino all showing this look

Valentino

Chanel

DKNY

And again, heres some high street goodies that will keep you right on trend!

I love this over size coatigin from ASOS the colour matches so many different pieces and would look flawless with most styles! A coatigin is definitely on my wish list this winter!

I'm most definitely loving the colour of this oversize masculine studio coat from Zara

This blazer from River Island just screams this trend, with the check running through it brings in the tartan trend too! Also this is a super easy piece to dress up and down too which is great!
